All About You

Saint Louis University, a Catholic, Jesuit institution dedicated to student learning, research, health care, and service, is seeking applicants for a postdoctoral fellow in the Edward A. Doisy Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, beginning immediately.

The Antony laboratory is looking for a motivated researcher to carry out projects that will provide a greater understanding of the mechanism of action of enzymes that function in DNA repair and recombination. The goal of our research is to dissect the mechanisms that enzymes use to protect the integrity of the genome. For this NIH-funded position, the postdoctoral fellow will be entrusted with responsibilities associated with a new TIRF microscope capable of performing four-color single-molecule microscopy. The associated projects range from capturing the dynamics of DNA repair and recombination proteins on DNA and RNA to capturing ATP-dependent assembly of large protein assemblies during nitrogen fixation and chlorophyll synthesis.

The ideal candidate for the position will be a postdoctoral researcher with a background in single-molecule biophysics, molecular biology and biochemistry of protein-nucleic acid and protein-protein interactions. The researcher will be responsible for maintaining the TIRF microscope, designing experiments, interpreting results, writing manuscripts and training graduate students in TIRF microscopy.

Successful candidates are expected to be graduates with a Ph.D. in biochemistry, chemistry, or molecular biophysics. Compensation will be based on experience, according to the NIH pay scale.
