Job Description

Job Purpose

Under the direction of Professor Andreas Tolias, we are looking for exceptionally talented researchers that share our vision: to discover new computational principles of brain intelligence and apply these principles to create fundamentally new algorithms for machine intelligence. We are particularly interested in candidates with expertise in machine learning, computational neuroscience.

Job Responsibilities

· Work in a team of researchers in the development and analysis of experiments as well as models of stimulus representation and information transformation in the visual system.

· Extend data pipelines and interfaces for training and testing cutting edge deep neural networks, taking advantage of the existing pipeline for collecting and processing neurophysiology data

· Design and implement software and hardware infrastructures for performing high-throughput machine learning based analysis of the neurophysiology data collected in the lab, develop and analyze novel neural network theories and models, and publish results in collaboration with postdocs and students in the lab

· Help with the production of figures for grant proposals and manuscripts

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Ph.D in Basic Science, Health Science, or a related field.

Experience: Experience in developing theories and implementations for deep neural network modeling, utilizing state of the art libraries/framework, with experience in designing and analyzing visual stimulus and experiments for in vivo two-photon imaging, single-unit/multi-electrode/laminar recordings preferred
