Applicants are invited for a Post-doctoral research fellow to examine: a) fluctuations in Autonomic Nervous System (ANS) activity in naturalistic, home settings and b) interactions between attention and ANS activity in lab based settings in typical children and children with Rett Syndrome. You will be responsible for developing new signal processing techniques to analyse automatic data, including nonlinear time series models.  It is a multi-site project, split between the University of East London and the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York.

The project will involve collecting lab-based data using a TX300 eyetracker to examine attention control abilities in typical children and children with Rett Syndrome. It will also involve recording Autonomic Nervous System (ANS) function, including Electrocardiography, Impedance Cardiography, respiration transducers, Accelerometry and Electrodermal Activity.

The post-holder will be mainly based in London, where the collection of ANS data from typical children will take place. This involves travelling to New York on several occasions, including one visit of at least two weeks, to perform equipment set-up and between-site cross-validation checks.

The post is suitable from applicants with a background in Psychology, Neuroscience or Medicine with an interest in signal processing, time-series analyses and some experience of data analysis using Matlab or a similar programming environment.
