Altered metabolism is one of the cancer hallmarks and offers promising opportunities for designing new therapies. One of the biggest challenges in understanding how to target the altered metabolism of tumours effectively is inter and cross-tumour heterogeneity. The project is a part of CRUK Grant Challenge Award funded program and aims to evaluate how metabolic changes are aligned with genetic profiles of tumours using in vivo models and mass spectrometry imaging along with confocal imaging of metabolic state parameters in cells and in vivo models. The post holder will be a part of the team of researchers in Gyorgy Szabadkai (University College London, Consortium for Mitochondrial Research, Crick Satellite Group leader) and Mariia Yuneva’s (Crick group leader) lab and will also interact with researchers from National Physical Laboratory and other groups in the Consortium. 

The successful candidate is likely to be an energetic, focused, and productive individual with a desire to work in a congenial, dynamic, and collaborative research environment. Good organisational, analytical, and communication skills are essential.
