postdoctoral fellow in translational medicine : Boston , MA, United States

Brigham and Women’s Hospital Division of Cardiovascular Medicine seeks candidates for a postdoctoral fellow in translational medicine to work in fully funded multi-year program integrating software development, genomics, translational research and cardiovascular clinical care. The project’s overall goal is to create an environment where the general cardiologist will be able to successfully integrate clinical, genomic and other information in day-to-day practice. The successful candidate will act as the main physician link with an ongoing software development team and will also participate in an ongoing program to understand the role of genomics in inpatient cardiovascular medicine and in patient stratification for clinical trials. There are also additional opportunities to participate in first in human clinical trials based on molecular identification of patient subgroups.

Candidates should be trained in clinical cardiology, but need not yet have completed subspecialty training. The ideal candidate will have an MD, or MD, PhD or equivalent, prior experience in patient-centered genetic or genomic research, prior experience in clinical or basic informatics and a track record of completed research projects, though these need not be at the postdoctoral level. It would be advantageous to have a working knowledge of R or some other relevant programming environment.
