Postdoctoral Fellow - Computational Analyses of Single-Cell RNA-seq Data : Stockholm, Sweden

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic postdoctoral fellow to study large-scale single-cell transcriptome regarding regenerative mechanisms (mainly in the CNS and the pancreas), at the Department of Cell and Molecular Biology, Karolinska Institutet.

The position consists of a 2 years full time stipend with a possibility of a 2 years extension.

In particular, the successful candidate will perform computational analyses of single-cell RNA-seq data. In these projects we will generate “molecular signatures” of regeneration in several organs in order to understand the molecular principles that drive normalization of homeostasis, at a previously unprecedented level, using state-of-the-art single-cell RNA-seq. As such, the newly identified molecular cues will be functionally assessed as part of collaborations with other members of the laboratories.

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

For this project, we seek a postdoctoral research fellow with expertise in computational analyses of RNA-seq data.

Entry requirements:


Computational analyses of single-cell RNA-seq data:

We seek a candidate with strong background in genome-wide bioinformatics, including use of Python and/or R. Previous experience with RNA-seq data analyses is meriting.
The candidate should be able to show documented expertise in visualizing RNA-seq data using various graphical interfaces.

General requirements:


A person is eligible for a position as postdoctoral research fellow if he or she has obtained a PhD (as defined by the date written on the PhD-diploma) no more than two years before the start date of the postdoc stipend. The successful applicants must have the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a group and have good English communication skills….
