The appointment will be on UCL Grade 6. The salary range will be £29,485  - £31,091  per annum  , inclusive of London Allowance.

We are seeking a Research Assistant (RA) to work in UCL’s Division of Psychiatry on the QuEST project (Quality and Effectiveness of Supported Tenancies for people with mental health problems). The study aims to deliver the first standardised quality assessment tool for supported accommodation, a detailed description of supported accommodation services in England and those who use them, evidence on clinical and cost-effectiveness of these services and to explore the feasibility of a trial to test the clinical and cost effectiveness of two models of supported housing.

The post involves the recruitment of participants in line with the project timeframe, collection of data using both quantitative and qualitative methods as well as the cleaning and entering of study data. The postholder will be required to travel to sites across England with some overnight stays.

This is a developmental role and would be particularly suitable for someone seeking a career in mental health services research.

The post is available from February 2016, and the duration is dependent upon completion of the cover, return of the post holder or cessation of the funding, whichever is the sooner. In the first instance the cover is estimated to be until 13th January 2017.

A relevant first degree is required, as are enthusiasm and excellent communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and effectively within a team. Experience of data handling and interpretation is required, and of recruiting and interviewing study participants.

A relevant Master’s degree and clinical/research experience in the mental health field are desirable.
