SCIENTIFIC CONTEXT

The Information Processing and Communication Laboratory (LTCI) is Telecom Paris' in-house research laboratory. Since January 2017, it has continued the work previously carried out by the CNRS joint research unit of the same name. The LTCI was created in 1982 and is known for its extensive coverage of topics in the field of information and communication technologies. The LTCI's core subject areas are computer science, networks, data science, signal and image processing and digital communications. The laboratory is also active in issues related to systems engineering and applied mathematics. The hosting team is S2A (Signal, Statistics and Machine learning) of the LTCI Lab.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES 1. Conducting research in the field of machine learning applied to sound and music signals 2. They should conduct research. 3. They should participate in the development of partnerships, collaborations, and contractual agreements in their scientific field.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Research : - Develops a research activity in the field of hybrid deep learning by combining signal processing models and machine learning with applications in the field of audio and music information retrieval.

Animation : - Participates in and contributes to the scientific animation of the research Group (seminars, reading groups,…).

Participation in the reputation of the School and the Polytechnic Institute of Paris: - Publishes the results of his/her research work; - Carries out presentations and conferences; - Involved in learned or professional societies; - Maintains close relations with academic institutions, research centres and companies.

Miscellaneous : - Participates in the scientific and management activities of the Department or Institution; - Reports on the activities and results of the missions for which he/she is responsible.

Skills/Qualifications

Essential skills, knowledge and experience: - In-depth knowledge, theoretical or applied, in the field of signal processing and statistical learning, especially deep learning, applied to time series (audio signals) - Knowledge of the domain of speech or audio processing - Fluency in English.

Desirable skills, knowledge and experience : - Post-doctoral or international experience in an academic or industrial laboratory appreciated;

Abilities and aptitudes : - Ability to work as part of a team, interpersonal skills; - Pedagogical skills - Ability to write and summarise.
