Offer Description

Nanostructure Physics Group at the University of Ostrava, the Czech Republic, is looking for a progressive, ambitious, and innovative postdoctoral researcher with a focus on electronic structure modeling of 2D materials to join its team under the European and Global Marie Skłodowska-Curie 2023 Postdoctoral fellowship program.

Requirements for applicants

· Background in computational physics, material science, quantum chemistry, or related fields

· Ph.D. degree (up to 8 years from obtaining) in the mentioned or similar disciplines

· Prior experience with atomistic modeling or computational science, experience with plane-wave codes (as VASP), scripting, or programming

· Publications related to electronic structure modeling of 2D materials (at least one first-authored paper in Q1 journal in WOS)

· Experience with involvement in the projects

· Good written and oral communication skills in English

· Ability to work independently

· Not staying in the Czech Republic for more than 12 months during the last 3 years at the time of the deadline

The job position is connected with submitting of project proposal within the MSCA Postdoctoral fellowship program.

· If your proposal gains a score higher than 93%, your position will be funded by the mentioned program.

· If your proposal gains a score between 71 and 92%, your position could be funded by the Czech structural funds.
