The Postdoctoral Scholar in technology transfer will work with the Center for Research and Teaching with Transformative Technologies (CRTTT) PIs, Senior Personnel, and Advisory Committee to develop methodologies for identifying and nurturing interdisciplinary/multidisciplinary projects that are ripe for technology transfer and licensing agreements. Revenue from these projects will funnel into new CRTTT projects with high technology transfer potential, creating a sustainable business model through which the center can grow and flourish. In its mature form, teams of researchers and educators will work across a spectrum of project spaces from the sciences to the arts, building multi-disciplinary communities of practice focused on hybrid approaches to emergent problems.

Duties:

Work with a community of faculty and professional staff to identify and facilitate projects with technology transfer potential;

Develop training to support an expanded and sustainable creative computing program;

Investigate and evaluate emerging tools and technologies related to creative computing research;

Organize individual and group research training and informational sessions for faculty, staff, and students.

A postdoctoral scholar position is a professional appointment designed to provide recent postdoctoral degree recipients with an opportunity to gain experiences and skills that will advance their careers. Required Qualifications

Earned doctorate in a relevant field (e.g., creative technologies; entrepreneurship and innovation; creative industries management; computer science and engineering; etc.), after January 1, 2018, but before beginning the fellowship in 2023;

Demonstrated ability to articulate the opportunities of new and emerging technology trends, resources, and their real-world applications to various constituents, e.g., scholars, researchers, staff, members of the public;

Demonstrated experience working independently and collaboratively in a team environment; and

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Earned interdisciplinary doctorate;

Demonstrated project management experience;

Knowledge of patent law and licensing agreements;

Experience strategizing, producing, and/or creating marketing and communication materials to bring new technologies to market; and

Experience in the use and application of one or more emerging technologies for creating and/or transmitting scholarship.
