A postdoctoral position is available in the department of chemistry at Syracuse University. The research mainly focuses on the synthesis and characterization of active and adaptable synthetic materials. This research will entail synthetic chemistry, polymer chemistry, and soft-matter characterization. Experience with manipulation of air-sensitive compounds using Schlenk-line, soft-matter characterization using scattering (DLS, SLS) and microscopy (TEM, SEM) are desirable. The position is available immediately.

Qualifications

Applicants are required to have a Ph.D. in chemistry, materials science, or closely related field with excellent communications skills.

Job Specific Qualifications Responsibilities

Pioneer research areas by intellectually engaging the group, run experiments, coordinate purchasing and requisitions, train undergraduate and graduate students, write proposals, and publish research results in peer- reviewed journals.
