Postdoc in Evolution of Major Sponge Families through Phanerozoic Time

At the Department of Biology, University of Southern Denmark, we are looking for a postdoc with expertise in sponge evolution. Our objective is to trace the evolution of major sponge classes/families through Phanerozoic time with an emphasis on the relationship between evolution and potential biogeochemical drivers.

We are particularly interested in someone with a strong background in phylogenetics with a demonstrated ability to manipulate large and complicated data sets. We are also looking for someone with a proven track record in sponge research.

The selected candidate will join a Villum foundation funded project aimed, broadly, at unravelling interrelationships between organismal evolution and the evolution of Earth-surface chemistry through time. Other than the requirements listed above, the candidate should have completed their PhD. The postdoc position runs from 1 September 2021 to 31 May 2023.
