Research Fellow In Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome

Job description

We are recruiting for a Research Fellow to join Prof Cecilia O'Kane's research group as soon as possible. The successful candidate will investigate mechanisms and biomarkers of Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS) within the Wellcome-Wolfson Institute for Experimental Medicine, in QUB. The Research Fellow will work to obtain reliable data, particularly in biomarkers on clinical samples or laboratory models of ARDS, including ex vivo tissue culture of lung slices.

This post is available until 31 March 2021 with possibility of extension.

The successful candidate must have:

Have or about to obtain a PhD in a biomedical field of laboratory-based research

At least 3 years' recent relevant research experience to include:

Cell culture, ideally including primary cells

Standard lab assays including ELISA, RNA extraction and RT-PCR, western blot

Ability to critically appraise data
