Overview

JOB DESCRIPTION: The Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Pharmacology invites applications for a postdoctoral position in the laboratory of Dr. William Kobertz.

This position is for an applicant who will use cellular imaging and electrophysiological techniques to fluorescently visualize extracellular K+ over the varied cardiomyocyte landscape. Applicants are expected to be able to design and conduct experiments independently.

JOB REQUIREMENTS: Full-time postdoctoral position requiring a Ph. D. in biophysics, physiology or related field.

AREAS OF EXPERTISE: Isolation and culturing of primary mammalian cardiomyocytes; whole cell recording or field stimulation of ventricular myocytes are required. Calcium imaging or patch-clamp fluorometry expertise is desired, but not required.
