Applications are solicited for an individual to be appointed as an Postdoctoral Associate under the supervision of Professor Dirk Trauner.

We are looking for highly gifted and motivated individuals to join our lab in New York City as postdoctoral fellows to explore different aspects of Natural product synthesis - Projects are available in method development and synthesis of natural products.

You will work in a highly interdisciplinary and stimulating scientific environment in the center of one of the most vibrant cities in the world. Representative expertises in the group are:

Synthetic Chemistry: Design of small molecule photoswitches

Analytics: X-ray, HPLC, LCMS, NMR

Photophysical characterization: Thermal relaxation studies, PSS, fluorescence

Biochemistry: Molecular Cloning, transfections, RNAi, blotting

Cell Culture: Mammalian cell lines, primary cells

Live Cell Imaging: Confocal microscopy, flow cytometry

Electrophysiology: Whole cell and brain slice electrophysiology

Successful applicants will be highly motivated with an interest in working in natural product total synthesis and must hold a Ph.D. degree in a related field. The ideal candidate will have research experience in organic synthesis.
