Job Description

A postdoctoral position in bone tissue engineering is available at UCLA School of Dentistry/Bioengineering. The successful candidate will work on NIH-funded projects focused on developing new therapeutic strategies and biomaterials to repair craniofacial and orthopedic skeletal defects. The candidate is expected to interact with a multidisciplinary team of investigators, with experts in biomedical engineering, bone biology, oral and maxillofacial surgery.

Qualifications:

Applicants should have a recent Ph.D. in biomedical engineering, materials science and engineering, chemistry, biology, or related field with strong research track records in one or more of the following areas: molecular biology, gene therapy, stem cell biology, tissue engineering, polymer synthesis, biomaterial processing and characterization. Preference will be given to applicants with a strong experimental background in gene therapy for tissue engineering or designing liposomal drug delivery systems.
