Postdoctoral fellow in reproduction at University of Pennsylvania

Postdoctoral positions are available at the University of Pennsylvania to study meiosis, male infertility, and male contraception. One position is for investigating mammalian in vitro spermatogenesis and meiosis using genomic, genetic, lentiviral, and RNAi approaches. The second position is for characterizing meiosis-specific proteins, screening small-molecule inhibitors for contraception, and studying genetic causes of male infertility in humans. Our group focuses on the study of germline development and meiosis in mice and humans as well as genetic causes of human male infertility. Meiosis, a cell division unique to germ cells, allows the reciprocal exchange of genetic material between paternal and maternal genomes. Candidates with a recent/expected Ph.D. should have a strong background and technical skills in molecular biology, mammalian cell culture, protein biochemistry, reproduction, or lentiviral technology. Anticipated start date is August 1st, 2018 or sooner. Generous stipends will be paid according to NIH NRSA postdoctoral stipend levels. Candidates with more than one year of postdoctoral experience will not be considered.
