The Programme
- 4 year programme emphasising research & development in a commercial
environment.
- Most research in the form of EngD projects, but PhD projects are available.
- The Engineering Doctorate (EngD) is an alternative to a traditional PhD for
students who want a career in industry.
- Students spend 75% of their time working directly with one of our
30 company partners and 25% of their time on technical, MBA and
professional skills courses.
Funding
Fees plus stipend of £21,053 for EngD researchers and
£16,053 for PhD researchers.
Funds are also available to support company employees who
wish to study for an EngD whilst remaining in employment.
Entry Requirements
1st class or 2.1 degree at MPhys or MEng level in physical
sciences, particularly physics and electrical engineering
graduates.
(Exceptional applicants from a BSc or BEng programme are also
considered).
