Job Description

A position is available for the Gross laboratory in the Department of Anesthesiology, Perioperative and Pain Medicine at Stanford University. Through support from a NIGMS MIRA award and a TRDRP award, the laboratory is focusing on developing precision medicine for Asian Americans who cannot efficiently metabolize reactive aldehydes secondary to a genetic variant in the enzyme ALDH2. A majority of this work is focused in the pre-clinical realm specifically on the topics of anesthesiology, cardiovascular, and pulmonary research. 

The ideal candidate would have previous basic science research experience in either anesthesiology research, cardiac ischemia-reperfusion injury research, or lung endothelial cell biology research. Candidates with a strong record of productivity are encouraged to apply. The applicant will be responsible for working both independently and as part of a team, have excellent verbal and written skills, and have a strong work ethic. If a post-doctoral candidate, the person should also display the potential to be trained as an independent investigator and apply for independent funding.
