Mulitple Post-doctoral Research Fellow and Research Associate positions in the area of metabolic engineering, biochemistry, metabolomics, enzyme screening and engineering, synthetic biology is available at the Department of Chemical Engineering and Applied Chemistry, University of Toronto. This position is a part of collaborative research project with Industry.

Qualifications

Candidates with experience in any of enzyme screening, protein engineering, high throughput enzyme assays, enzyme engineering, structural biology, metabolic engineering, flux analysis, and biochemistry are encouraged to apply for this interdisciplinary project involving active collaboration with microbiologists, biochemists and engineers.

Experience with CRISPR-Cas system is desirable.

One postdoctoral fellow position for building and designing biosensors is available.

Preference given to candidates with experience with:

High-throughput methods and method development

Recombinant protein production and purification

Liquid-handling robots

Strong background in the following is preferred:

Yeast physiology (un-conventional yeast experience an asset)

State-of-the-art genome editing methods

High throughput gene assembly

Microbiological methods

Metabolic modelling

Experience with strain/enzyme rational or random evolution principles is a plus
