Applications are invited for a Post-Doc position available in the group of Professor Casiraghi, School of Chemistry, University of Manchester. The project will mainly focus on the study of nucleation and crystallization of crystals in solution by near-field Raman spectroscopy, mostly Tip-Enhanced Raman spectroscopy (TERS). The project is funded by the European Commission in the framework of an ERC Consolidator Award. The project also includes collaboration with the National Physical Lab (NPL) in London.

This post is available for two years, with a possible extension of one year. You should have a PhD (by the start date) in Chemistry, Material Science, Physics or related subjects.

Significant experience on TERS is required to be shortlisted for interview. Preference will be given to applicants that applied TERS to the study of molecules interacting with surfaces, in particular 2-Dimensional materials, such as graphene. A strong publication record in internationally peer-reviewed journals is required.
