We are currently seeking a highly-motivated postdoctoral scientist to work with Prof Eoin Scanlan on a collaborative, multidisciplinary Chemical Protein Synthesis project funded by Science Foundation Ireland. The successful candidate will be employed by Trinity College and the position will be located in the state-of-the-art Trinity Biomedical Sciences Institute which has excellent, newly constructed facilities for synthetic organic chemistry and drug discovery.

The aim of the project is to develop and optimise a novel synthetic methodology for peptide ligation/protein modification and to apply this methodology to the synthesis of therapeutic proteins with defined post-translational modifications. The work will involve peptide synthesis, methodology development, purification and in vitro analysis of synthetic proteins.

You should have a PhD with a strong background in one or more of the following areas: synthetic organic chemistry (ideally, working with peptides but training will be provided), methodology development, chemical biology, protein purification/modification.
