Job Summary

The Department of Biochemistry & Molecular Biology is accepting applications for postdoctoral candidates to study the mechanics of DNA damage tolerance and cancer predisposition. Our laboratory is interested in connecting specific DNA repair defects with targeted anti-cancer chemotherapies. This is an NIH-funded position open immediately in the laboratory of Dr. David Long. 

Preferred Experience:

Successful candidates will be self-motivated and able to perform complex in vitro and in vivo experiments using biochemical extract systems and established cancer models. Relevant technical experience includes: cell culture, immunofluorescence, protein purification, mass spectrometry, and standard molecular biology assays (ChIP, Western and Southern blotting, gel electrophoresis, etc.).

The position requires a Ph.D., expertise in cell/cancer biology or biochemistry, and excellent communication skills (speaking and writing English). Candidates should also be able to independently plan and perform research with minimal supervision, evaluate experimental results, troubleshoot problems, and maintain an organized and legible notebook that provides a detailed record of all experiments performed.
