A postdoctoral scholar position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Xiangmin Xu at University of California, Irvine. Dr. Xu’s research focuses on neural circuitry, which applies to understanding the neurobiology of sensory perception, and learning and memory. We use combined approaches of electrophysiology, laser scanning photostimulation, optical imaging, and new viral tracing to address neural circuit questions.
Requirements: The successful candidate will have a Ph.D., or equivalent degree, with experimental training in systems or cellular neuroscience. Candidates who are experienced in whole cell patch-clamping in brain slices would be preferred. Applicants should be motivated for academic excellence, and have good writing skills.
