Department Information

The Department of Clinical and Digital Health Sciences has 15 faculty, about 150 undergraduate and 100 graduate students. The department offers the nation’s oldest online undergraduate programs in Health Information Administration (HIA), a post-baccalaureate certificate in Health Information Administration, a Master of Public Health, a Bachelor of Science in Respiratory Therapy, a Dietetic Internship and a Master of Science in Nutrition. The College of Allied Health Sciences has been steadily growing year after year. Research is also multiplying impressively, thank to our generous support practices. Our ambitious vision is to be a top ranked university that is a destination of choice for education, health care, discovery, creativity, and innovation. Our predecessor, the Medical College of Georgia, is one of the earliest health professional higher education institutions in the country. 

Minimum Requirement

Ph.D. or equivalent degree from an accredited college or university

Departmental Requirements - Knowledge, Abilities, Skills

Excellent verbal/written communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills

Basic competency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, EndNote, and other computer software/databases

Must be detail-oriented

Ability to work independently; prioritize tasks; complete work and meet deadlines

Ability to exercise sound judgment; make responsible decisions; maintain confidentiality

Preferred

Public Health focus with knowledge of modeling and simulation techniques and/or health informatics

Responsibilities

A training position designed to learn through engagement in an advanced level of scientific technical and administrative work in support of research efforts in an assigned laboratory or clinical research setting. The duties include, but are not limited to: participate in research data collection and documentation within relevant guidelines and protocols; participate in project planning and development of research protocols; develop and evaluate new research techniques and procedures; analyze results of experiments and procedures using manual or computer techniques; teach and participate in complex bacteriological, chemical and/or radio-chemical qualitative and quantitative analysis, macro- and micro- serological, histologic and cell culture procedures; publish results in scientific journals; perform a variety of complex chemical, biological, cytologic, microscopic, histologic, surgical, clinical, statistical/computational and dissection procedures; assist other research personnel in the laboratory; troubleshoot, repair, and operate complex scientific equipment; and other duties as assigned.

Shift/Salary
Shift: Days/M-F
Salary: $45,000/Annual
Salary to be commensurate with qualifications and experience of candidate
Recruitment Period: 8/2/16 - Until Filled
