大 阪大学起源于1838年绪方洪庵设立的兰学塾——适塾。1931年，原大阪医科大学的医学部与理学部组成大阪帝国大学，成为日本第六所旧帝国大学，之后吸 收了原大阪工业大学工学部。二战后，正式更名为大阪大学，并陆续统合了大阪高等学校、浪速高等学校、大阪药学专门学校。2007年，大阪外国语大学合并为 其外国语学部。
