Postdoc in Organic Chemistry and Contrast Agent Development

Job Description

A postdoctoral position is available to study small molecule contrast agents for in vitro and in vivo imaging applications. Our laboratory uses imaging data to study a variety of molecular mechanisms related to human health (http://jjokerst.eng.ucsd.edu/).

The primary goal of this postdoctoral fellowship is to create chemical probes that report cell membrane tension with fluorescence. Interested applicants must have a PhD in organic chemistry, medicinal chemistry, chemical biology, or a closely related field. Preference will be given to applicants with an outstanding publication record and expertise in organic chemistry, synthesis, HPLC, mass spectrometry, FT-IR, cell and tissue culture, activatable systems, and imaging. Applicants should be highly motivated, creative, and independent. The work will be conducted in beautiful La Jolla, California with a fantastic climate and excellent quality of life.
