Position Summary

Applications are invited for a position of Post-Doctoral Researcher within the School of Biological, Earth and Environmental Sciences.

UV-SINTEC is a Science Foundation Ireland multidisciplinary project investigating the use of novel LED technology, particularly in the UV spectrum, to aid in the understanding and optimisation of plant growth for sustainable cropping (https: // uvled4crops.ucc.ie). This post will provide an exciting opportunity for a newly qualified Post-Doctoral researcher to work in metabolite analysis of plants and to analyse effects of UV exposure on specific metabolites. The candidate will engage in the operation and management of an analytical HPLC facility, and measure responses of plant metabolites in relation to UV exposure. The position is based in the highly research-active School of BEES, at the UCC North Mall Campus.

Project Title: Exploiting narrow-band UV-LEDs for Sustainable, Innovative, Technology-Enabled Cropping (UV-SINTEC)

Post Duration: 7 Months

Salary: 欧元41,207 - 欧元47,477 p.a. (IUA PD1 Salary Scale)
